02 · The online shop

What the shop needs

The shop at shop.creativebeverages.co.za runs on WooCommerce and is a separate system. To take and deliver an order it collects your name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address, your company name if you give one, and any note you add to the order. If you create an account, it keeps those details so you do not have to type them again.

The shop sets cookies for the things a shop needs to work: your basket, your session, the products you looked at recently, and whether you have confirmed your age. It also records how you arrived — the site that referred you, any campaign tag in the link, and basic details about your browser — which WooCommerce attaches to the order so we can see which channels bring sales.

The shop loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no other tracking on the shop.

03 · Who else sees it

Four, and only for their part of the job

PayGate

Takes the payment. You are handed to PayGate to enter your card details, so your card number never reaches our shop at all. They receive the order amount and reference.

xneelo

Hosts the website and the shop, and therefore stores the order records. Their servers are in Johannesburg, so your information stays in South Africa.

Microsoft

Carries our email. Anything you send to one of our addresses sits in a Microsoft 365 mailbox.

Google

Receives your IP address when the shop loads its typeface, as above. Nothing else is sent.

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

04 · How long we keep it

As long as the order needs us to

Order records are kept while we may still need them — to deliver, to handle a return or a query, and to meet the accounting and tax obligations that apply to a South African business. Enquiries sent by email are kept in the mailbox they arrived in.

If you want your details removed and there is no order still open and no record we are required to keep, ask us and we will remove them.

05 · Your rights

POPIA, in plain terms

South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act gives you the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, and to object to us using it. You can also complain to the Information Regulator if you are not satisfied with how we answer.
